How It Works
From your first appointment to your wedding day. Our brides tell us that ordering their dress was the easiest part of planning their wedding. Here is exactly what to expect.
1. Book Your Appointment
Usually, one appointment with Edwina is all you need to choose your dress and have your measurements taken. Saturday visits at 40/41 Dame Street, Dublin 2 last approximately 90 minutes. Your first appointment is free. A second appointment to help you decide between styles costs €50, fully redeemable against your dress purchase. Request an appointment and we will confirm availability.
2. Try on Dresses with Edwina
Try on dresses from Edwina’s collections with her guidance. You can discuss customising an existing design, such as a neckline, sleeve or train length, and Edwina will explain what is possible. We do not create dresses from a bride’s own design or recreate another designer’s gown.
3. Measurements and Deposit
Once you have chosen your dress, Edwina takes your measurements. Your order is then confirmed with a 50% deposit, with the remaining 50% due when your dress is complete. Deposits are non-refundable. That is it. One appointment, and your dress is on its way to being made.
4. Made to Your Measurements
Allow eight to nine months overall: around six months for your gown to be made, followed by two to three months for alterations and fittings with your own seamstress. We do not provide in-house alterations. Getting married sooner? Contact us before booking to discuss possible shorter timeframes or limited dresses available off the rail.
5. Collected or Delivered
When your dress is ready, you can collect it from our Dublin showroom or arrange delivery. Please book alterations and fittings with your own seamstress, allowing an additional two to three months after production. Alterations are not included in the price of your gown, and we do not offer an in-house alterations service.

A Few More Things
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
You are welcome to bring up to three guests. If you would like to bring more, please contact us beforehand. Choose the people whose opinions help you feel comfortable and confident.
Can I order a wedding dress if I am not based in Ireland?
Yes. Your appointment takes place in Dublin and your dress is delivered to you wherever you are. We have dressed brides from across Europe, Asia and beyond. Get in touch and we will make it work.
What happens after I receive my dress?
Your own seamstress will handle any alterations and fittings. These are separate from your dress-selection appointment with Edwina. Arrange them in advance and allow two to three months for this stage.
Is Edwina O'Gorman Bridal an Irish brand?
Completely. Edwina is an Irish designer, the brand is Irish, and the showroom is in Dublin. We are a small, family-run label and have been since 2011.
