How It Works

From your first appointment to your wedding day. Our brides tell us that ordering their dress was the easiest part of planning their wedding. Here is exactly what to expect.
 

1. Book Your Appointment
Everything begins with one appointment at our private showroom at 40/41 Dame Street, Dublin 2. Appointments are on Saturdays and last approximately 90 minutes. You will have Edwina's full and undivided attention. To book, request an appointment and we will be in touch to confirm your date.
 

2. Try on Dresses with Edwina
You will try on dresses from Edwina's collections. She will guide you through what works for you, what flatters, and what to leave behind. It is a relaxed, personal process with no pressure whatsoever.
If you would like any adjustments to a design, a different neckline, a change to the sleeve, a shorter train, Edwina will discuss what is possible with you then and there. Small tweaks and customisations are all part of the conversation. By the end of your appointment, you will have found your dress.
 

3. Measurements and Deposit
Once you have chosen your dress, Edwina takes your measurements. Your order is then confirmed with a 50% deposit, with the remaining 50% due when your dress is complete. Deposits are non-refundable. That is it. One appointment, and your dress is on its way to being made.
 

4. Made to Your Measurements
Your wedding dress is made to the measurements taken at your appointment. The process typically takes approximately six months. Getting married sooner? Rush orders may be possible. Please contact us before booking your appointment and we will let you know what we can do for you.
 

5. Collected or Delivered
When your dress is ready, you can collect it from our Dublin showroom or have it delivered to you, wherever you are in Ireland or the world. All deliveries are fully tracked and insured.
We recommend arranging a fitting with a local seamstress once your dress arrives. All wedding dresses benefit from a final fitting regardless of how they are made. This is simply the last step in making sure everything is perfect for your day.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
Just yourself. Keep your group small, one or two people whose opinion you truly trust. Too many voices can complicate what should be a simple and enjoyable decision.
 

Can I order a wedding dress if I am not based in Ireland?
Yes. Your appointment takes place in Dublin and your dress is delivered to you wherever you are. We have dressed brides from across Europe, Asia and beyond. Get in touch and we will make it work.
 

What happens after I receive my dress?
We recommend arranging a fitting with a local seamstress. This is a normal part of the bridal process. Even made-to-measure gowns benefit from a final check and any small adjustments before the big day.
 

Is Edwina O'Gorman Bridal an Irish brand?
Completely. Edwina is an Irish designer, the brand is Irish, and the showroom is in Dublin. We are a small, family-run label and have been since 2011.
